Individual Therapy

We all have a story.

Sometimes you can figure out what is causing you to feel misunderstood. Sometimes you have no idea.

Often you know it is your past that continues to drag you down. Your family and friends can offer advice – and even though it’s well-meaning, it doesn’t help.

Something’s missing. Your thoughts and feelings are jumbled together, and you simply can’t make sense of them.

Healing starts with identifying the problem and finding the answers.

You have the answers and the ability within yourself to heal.

Our job is to help you find those answers. In your free initial consultation, we will discuss both your needs and the various approaches we offer to help you with those needs.

It starts with a brain mapping.

A QEEG (quantitative electroencephalography) is often recommended, so that we can understand neurologically how you are being affected by the stresses and/or traumas you have experienced.

We call the QEEG a brain map, because like any good map it provides us with direction for the best course of treatment for you.

Brain maps provide a guide for therapy.

Many individuals have experienced success with talk therapy yet feel like they are still stuck and unable to move forward.

When you get a brain map, it helps us understand what sort of things might continue to keep you stuck, such as anxiety or depression.

Every protocol is catered to your specific needs.

It is very important that we find what is going on with you as an individual, thus allowing us to find the best way to help you.

Following your brain mapping, we will likely do a combination of talk therapy and neurotherapy to help you heal your heart and mind in a way suitable to you.

Talk therapy may include a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach (works to help you change unhealthy belief patterns), a Character Strengths and Virtues approach (assesses and utilizes your strengths to overcome difficulties), or EMDR (a trauma resolution-based approach).

After 10-12 sessions of neurofeedback, you will have another brain map done to chart your progress and assess further needs.

The goal is to define a map leading to a healthier you.

Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that helps you change your brain wave activity toward healthier patterns.

Once the brain responds well to neurofeedback, we find that the brain continues to use those healthier patterns.

We can help find solutions that lead to healing.

Let’s start working together, so we can help you map out a solution to those persistent issues.
